Storied Souls Therapy
Faith-based virtual therapy for teen girls & women across Texas, Arizona, & Montana
There’s no such thing as too broken or messy for God. He is using every painful part of your story—every heartbreak, roadblock, and let down—to write a beautiful story of redemption for you.
I know because He did it for me.
Hi, I’m Madilynn!
Healing is hard work, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is passionate about helping teen girls and women across Texas, Arizona, and Montana find healing in Jesus Christ so that they can live the lives they were made for—lives full of purpose and joy. By combining evidence-based therapy with the encouragement and truth of God’s Word, my goal is to equip you with practical and creative tools to step into the freedom and hope of the redeemed story that God is writing for you.

I am considered an out-of-network therapist, or a private pay therapist, because I don’t bill insurance directly for my services. Instead, I can provide a superbill to my clients that they can submit to their insurance for reimbursement. I also partner with a company called Mentaya that submits out-of-network claims to your insurance provider for a 5% processing fee to make reimbursement easier. If you’d like to use Mentaya’s calculator to see how much you may be reimbursed for therapy (on average 62%!), click the “My Rates” button below.

I’m only able to provide therapy in the states where I’m licensed, which is currently Texas, Arizona, and Montana.

First of all, I’m so glad you’re here! When you’re starting therapy and starting to process through the heavy things you’ve been through or are going through, it’s normal for you to feel worse before you start feeling better. It’s like when you scrape your knee—initially it looks pretty bad but with time and gentle care it heals.
Therapy can often look different for each person depending on their age, concerns, and emotional bandwidth. For some people, they may be in therapy for several weeks, while others may prefer or need to be in therapy for longer periods of time. Some people like the consistency of weekly sessions, while some people may need more flexibility (hey, life happens) and prefer bi-weekly or monthly sessions. In my experience, if you’re able to commit to regular sessions and show up prepared to put in the work, you’ll typically see results more quickly.
But it’s important to remember that therapy is a partnership between you (the client) and the therapist; if something isn’t working or is making you feel uncomfortable, let your therapist know so that they can make changes. The right therapist for you will be someone that you feel safe with and supported by, even when they’re challenging you to break patterns that have left you feeling stuck or are encouraging you to make meaningful changes.

Great question! Therapy is, by nature, a very personal experience where you’re opening up to your therapist about things you may not feel comfortable sharing with other people in your life. You want to work with a therapist that you feel safe with and supported by, and ideally one who shares your worldview and values (I say ideally because sometimes you don’t always have a choice, but thankfully telehealth is increasing access to faith-based therapy).
As a Christian therapist, I will keep pointing you back to the truth of God’s Word because I believe that true healing is found only in Jesus Christ. If that’s what you’re looking for in a therapist, click the button below to schedule a free 15-minute call with me where we can learn more about each other and see if we’re a good fit. If I’m not the right therapist for you, that’s totally okay! I’ll still do my best to help you find great therapists in your area.
